Default Values

Row 7 of the Wizard is reserved for Default Values.  Any data rows below Row 10 will be populated with default values if they are blank.  This occurs when validation is initiated on the worksheet and also when the data entry form is opened.

The Wizard currently does not allow you to set defaults for Descriptive Flexfield columns.

Any values that exist in the Default Values row (row 7) where the column is hidden, will default to your data entry rows.

Standard validation will apply if the defaulted value is not valid for the field.

Example:  If the ‘Currency’ default for all modifiers was ‘USD’ then this can be placed in row 7.  This value will then be used for all header records unless a value is populated.

Before Upload
After Upload

Note:
It is recommended that if you are using defaults that you validate the worksheet first before uploading into Oracle.  If any errors subsequently occur, they can be addressed prior to uploading.
At least one value in the defaulting section, for the appropriate row, must be populated for the Wizard to use the default values.
If you have different elements (for example ‘Pricing Attributes’) in your worksheet and you set default values, the default values may be used against the wrong element per the example below.  To work around this, you will need to validate the worksheet first and then remove any defaults causing an issue as the worksheet will already have these values populated.

Example: Prior to validation using Default values
