Select Source Data to be Copied
AMG behaves differently to the Oracle form, in that it will not automatically copy the Tasks from the source, whether it is a template or another project. It will not automatically copy Task level items such as Transaction Controls and Asset Assignments from the source Template or Project.
Project Wizard allows you to selectively copy this information from your choice of source.
To choose your options click on the ‘Create Options’ icon from the Project Wizard ribbon.
The following form will be displayed:
The default source is the worksheet. The rule for Classifications and Key Members is slightly different.
If you do NOT have Quick Entry items listed for these AND the template actually contains some data – AMG will attempt to copy the items from the template. Project Wizard cannot affect this.
If you DO have these items listed in Quick Entry, then AMG will accept the loaded data (from whatever source) and override the template values.
Organizations
Some special procedures are necessary should you desire to copy tasks from your template or source project. Here is the rule for Task Organizations: If the Task Organization on the Source is the same as on the Project/Template, then your new Tasks will have the same source as the new Project.
If the Task Organization is different, then the same Task Organizations will be copied to your new Project, whatever the new Project Organization is.
Transaction Controls
AMG always copies any Project Level Transaction Controls from the Template to the new Project, even if you are copying an existing project to create a new one. AMG looks back to the Template this Source project was created from.
AMG will NOT copy any Transaction Controls belonging to the Source Project. So we added this feature to Project Wizard.
If you choose to copy Tasks from a Source Project or Template, Project Wizard automatically copies the Task level Transaction Controls along with the Tasks.
Assets and Asset Assignments
Project Wizard automatically copies Task level Asset Assignments PROVIDED the Tasks themselves are created by copying them from the Template or Source Project.
By default, Project Assets and PROJECT level Asset Assignments are copied by AMG from the Template (NOT from the source Project).
