Tasks Mode

 
The following table provides a quick reference to the ‘Tasks’ Wizard Mode and its functions.

Wizard Mode
 
 
 
This option enables the user to select the appropriate ribbon if the one required is not displayed. 
 
Once this is selected, the ribbon will reset itself to provide the appropriate icons.
 
Tasks Form
 
 
 
A form to enter the Task information will display.
 
If you use this form, you can make use of the ‘Lists of Values’ and other validation as you are entering data.
 
Double clicking in the worksheet in the ‘Tasks’ section will give the same result.
 
 
Task DFF
 
 
 
A form will open to enter the Task Descriptive Flexfield information.  The [ ] icons will only appear on your ribbon if you have configured DFFs in your system.
 
You do not have to use this form, you can copy and paste or key directly into the fields if you prefer.
 
 
Upload Selected Tasks
 
 
 
The selected tasks (as indicated by the cursor) will be validated/loaded into Oracle Projects.
 
 
Upload All Tasks for the Selected Project
 
 
 
All tasks for a selected project (that have not already been processed) will be validated/loaded into Oracle Projects.
 
 
Upload All Tasks on the sheet
 
 
 
All tasks in the worksheet (that have not already been processed) will be validated/loaded into Oracle Projects.
 
 
Delete Selected Tasks
 
 
 
This icon will enable you to delete Tasks from Oracle Projects indicated by cursor position.
 
 
API Option
 
 
 
There are five options available for loading tasks.  The Bulk API is much faster but has some limitations.
 
 
 
Financial/Workplan
 
 
 
To set type of task the options are ‘Financial’ or ‘Workplan’.  Use ‘Financial’ if workplan is shared.
 
 
Publish Workplan
 
 
 
There are three options available.
 
Set the appropriate value from the LOVs before clicking the Upload button.
