Profile Options

Profile Options are common to all of our tools.  To find the profile options applicable for this Wizard, navigate to System Profile and enter More%PW% as shown in the screenshot below and select the ‘Find’ button.

The profile option applicable for this Wizard will show on the ‘System Profile Values’ form as shown below.

Many profile options can be set at the Site, Application, Responsibility or User level.  Modify your search in the ‘Find System Profile Options’ form to set options at the appropriate level.

Profile Options are installed when you log into an instance (from the Wizard) for the first time.  If a profile option is not available then you will need to re install your profile options.  To do this refer to the Re Install Profile Options available in the Common User Topics documentation.

Common Profile Options

The following profile options are created for each of our products:

More4Apps: PW Licence Key - This profile holds the licence key for the Wizard.  A valid licence key is required to use the product.  For more details on licence keys refer to the following Installation and Configuration Guide: Enter the Licence Key.

More4Apps: PW Named User - This profile enables you to control the named users for Project Wizard and is set at the User level in Oracle.  For more details on how to set up named users refer to the following Installation and Configuration Guide: Add Named Users.

More4Apps: PW Minimum version - This profile option allows you to record the minimum spreadsheet version number allowed.  If the version number of the spreadsheet being used is less than the recorded value then the Wizard will not operate.

More4Apps: PW Banned - If this profile option is set to ‘Yes’ the Wizard will not operate.  This can be set at the site, responsibility or user level.

More4Apps: PW Automatically Assign User - If this is set to ‘Yes’ new Users will be automatically assigned up to the maximum allowed by the licence key.

More4Apps: PW Allowed Version - This option allows you to dictate the Wizard version which can be used at a site, responsibility or user level.  Enter in this profile option the appropriate Wizard version (Example: 8.8.83).  The ‘Minimum Version’ profile however must be set lower for this profile option to be effective.
This profile option was introduced in the common modules on the 28th August 2011.  This profile is therefore only effective for Wizards which have this common module.

More4Apps:  PW Latest Version used - This profile option is for internal use only.  It records the highest version number used.

More4Apps:  PW Limit to preset Application ID -  Set this profile to ‘Yes’ to limit the selection of user responsibilities to those assigned to the same application as the Wizard or set to ‘No’ or leave blank to display all responsibilities assigned to the user.

More4Apps:  PW Nominated Sysadmin for user maintenance - This profile can be set to allow a nominated Oracle username which doesn't have System Administrator profile value access to maintain users for this product. Other users that do have System Administrator profile access can still maintain product users if this profile is set to a different person.
Note - This profile option is only available for clients with Wizard versions containing ‘Common Modules’ version 204 and greater.

More4Apps: PW Validate Only - This profile can be set to ‘Yes’ to allow the customer to setup validate only for the user.

More4Apps: PW Custom Query Manager - This profile allows customers to nominate a user to manage download queries.  This is useful if the user lacks sysadmin access and cannot be granted sysadmin.  The profile is set up at the user level.

More4Apps: PW Downloader Manager – This has been replaced by profile option ‘More4Apps: PW Custom Query Manager’.

More4Apps: PW Suppress Custom Query Functionality - This functionality can be suppressed by setting the profile option to ‘Yes’ at the user, responsibility or site level.  When this profile option is set (at the appropriate level), selection of any custom query icon will produce a message of ‘The custom query functionality has been disabled by your System Administrator.  Please contact your System Administrator’.

More4Apps: PW Suppress Downloader Functionality - This has been replaced by profile option ‘More4Apps: PW Suppress Custom Query Functionality’.

Product Specific Profile Options

The following profile options are specific to Project Wizard:

More4Apps: PW Allow MS-Word autocorrect characters - This profile prevents MS-Word AutoCorrect characters (which are non-ASCII) from being loaded.

More4Apps: PW Allow missing Project Level DFFs on project creation - This profile allows users to create new projects with missing mandatory DFF attributes.

More4Apps: PW Call Validation Extension - This is used when using the Direct Task loader mode for Tasks and is turned off by default.  Sites can modify this package to perform additional validation.

More4Apps: PW Disable functional security preventing uploads – To override the check to prevent users who don’t have access to the correct Oracle form from uploading, set profile option to ‘Yes’ at Site, User or Responsibility level.

More4Apps: PW Disable functional security preventing downloads – To override the check to prevent users who don’t have access to the correct Oracle form from downloading, set profile option to ‘Yes’ at Site, User or Responsibility level.

More4Apps: PW Remove lock from workplan before Publishing – Set profile option to ‘Yes’ at Site or Responsibility level.  It may be necessary to unlock the draft version prior to publishing it, if it is locked by another user.  The profile option enables this feature in the tool.

More4Apps: PW Security - Values provided for this profile are ‘Create only’, ‘Update Only’ and ‘Create & Update’.  This option allows you to limit whether the user can create or update projects.

More4Apps: PW Use Segments rather than Aliases for KFFs when downloading - This profile allows site to limit usage to responsibilities attached to the Projects Application.

More4Apps: PW Asset Assignments Preference - This profile sets the dropdown on the Asset Assignments ribbon.

More4Apps: PW Unicode Encoding Option - This profile determines if character sets used by different applications are converted.  By default this is set to ‘Automatic’ and should not be changed unless advised by More4apps Support.

More4Apps: PW Allow the Project level job Bill Rate Schedule to be blank - In some systems it appears the Project level job Bill Rate Schedule is allowed to contain no value even when the selection on the form is for Bill Rate Schedules.  Other systems require this value to be populated.  The Wizard defaults to requiring this value.  The profile option allows a blank value.

More4Apps: PW Commit each Task loaded using Direct Loader - The Wizard’s default behavior is to only commit Task Uploads after a group of Tasks is uploaded.  A Group may be 30 Tasks or so depending on the amount of data included in the upload.  The profile option allows you to cause the Wizard to issue a commit after each Task.  The purpose of this is to work around issues encountered updating Progress information in certain circumstances.

More4Apps: PW Prevent Percent Complete > 100 - The Oracle data entry form and the API allows percentage values greater than 100 to be uploaded.  This profile option allows you to prevent this.

More4Apps: PW Project level Localization DFF Code - By default the Wizard will not examine the system for the Global DFF configuration as this is not commonly used.  You can enable this functionality by turning on this profile option.

More4Apps: PW Create Funding for Quick Agreements - This enables functionality similar to that in Oracle forms.  If this is set to Yes, the tool copies Quick Agreement Funding from the Template when creating a new project.  The Baseline Funding Profile Option is used after this and will baseline it after the copy.

More4Apps: PW Baseline Funding – This option causes the tool to create a Baselined Budget equal to the new Agreement funding.  This profile option is designed to replicate the following Oracle functionality: https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18727_01/doc.121/e13587/T178714T178718.htm#T178749.

More4Apps: PW Suppress Task Re-sort after new Tasks added - This profile is now obsolete from version 9.0.6.

More4Apps: PW Prevent DPIS in prior years on Asset creation – Set this profile to ‘Yes’ at the desired level(s) to prevent Project Assets being created where the DPIS is prior to the start of the current fiscal year.

More4Apps: PW Limit Classifications to Template Quick Entry - When creating a new project, the Quick Entry setup on the Project Template applies to require mandatory Classifications.  Once created, there is nothing to stop the user from adding further Classifications not listed in Quick Entry.
Project Wizard by default allows the user to add any Classifications during project creation and update, including ones not listed in the Template's Quick Entry form.
This Yes/No profile option gives the administrator the ability to restrict this functionality to only those Classifications listed in the Quick Entry form.  It will operate for both new and existing projects.  The profile option can be set at Site, Responsibility, and User levels.
