In E-Business Suite you may have duplicate Employee Names, and duplicate Employee Numbers. Only the Person_ID is unique.
Having had problems with these duplicates in large companies we have added a comprehensive set of solutions to Project Wizard.
The dropdown list on the Setup ribbon contains the following three options for storing Employee References in the worksheet:
•Use Employee Number
•Use Employee Name
•Use Employee ID
These affect the upload, download and forms features. There are Employee references in Key Members, Task Managers, and Assigned-to person in Project Assets.
Duplicate Handling
Should you choose Employee ID there can be no duplicate issue.
If you choose one of the other options it is possible the upload process will discover more than one value for the worksheet reference. In this case, a small form will display presenting the options to you. Selecting one will cause the Employee’s unique ID to be passed to AMG.
