Welcome to Project Wizard.
We developed this tool in response to demand from Oracle Projects users for a user-friendly and robust worksheet tool to load projects into Oracle Projects from Microsoft Excel.
Project Wizard uses AMG (Activity Management Gateway), an open interface to Oracle Projects module.
IMPORTANT NOTE: There are a few areas within Project Wizard that are not supported by the Activity Management Gateway or any other Oracle Open Interface/API. More4apps developed customizations for the following:
• Transaction Controls - This functionality is disabled by default and can be turned on by setting the profile option ‘More4Apps: PW Enable Transaction Controls functionality’ to ‘Yes’ at the site level. This control only operates for older instances where the (recently released) public API for Transaction Controls is NOT installed. The profile option is intended to allow organizations to prevent the tool from performing unsupported updates in this area.
• Billing Overrides - This functionality is disabled by default and can be turned on by setting profile option ‘More4Apps: PW Enable Billing Overrides functionality’ to ‘Yes’ at the site level. This control only operates for older instances where the (recently released) public API for Billing Overrides is NOT installed. The profile option is intended to allow organizations to prevent the tool from performing unsupported updates in this area.
• ‘Project Limit to Txn Ctrls’ field (within the Project Header) - This functionality can be disabled by simply removing the column from the templates using the ‘Edit Template’ icon on the ‘Project Wizard - Setup’ ribbon. This was an unsupported update prior to Oracle’s (recently released) public API for Transaction Controls, which contains support for this update.
Project Wizard provides a high speed, robust Excel based interface for creating and maintaining Projects and all the related child sections. To support the update of existing projects a download facility is provided.
The worksheet will NOT operate without completing the server-side installation steps. Please read these before attempting to load the worksheet. Refer to Installation and Configuration Guide.

You can create projects, update projects/templates, and download projects/templates.
There are four upload options. You can upload a single record, a range of records, records for a selected project or the entire sheet.
The program is flexible about the worksheet layout. You can move or delete unwanted columns. You can also have multiple sheets.
Available Data Fields
There are more than 50 possible fields to upload into the project header including descriptive flexfields, currency and tax codes, numerous date columns, and other sundry fields. Only the most frequently used and likely to be required columns are included in this product. This is of course our opinion, and if there is a data item you wish to upload and it is not on the sheet, please let us know and we can create an enhancement request.
The same goes with Tasks. There are 62 available fields for upload at the time of writing, from which we have selected the most popular.
