Update Modes

 
The ‘Update Mode’ is used to determine what type of action to take when creating or changing special information records in Oracle Human Resources.
 
The ‘Update Mode’ within Special Information Wizard may be one of the following values:
 
     Create – A new Special Information record is being created (the Personal Analysis ID must be blank).
 
     Correct – An existing Special Information record is being changed (the Personal Analysis ID must be populated).  Old values will be overwritten.
 
     Blank (no Update Mode entered) This record will not be changed in Oracle Human Resources.  You will receive a warning message indicating that no update mode has been entered and that this record will not be processed. 
Note - You may intentionally leave many update modes blank.  For example, you may download several hundred employees and their special information records.  You may only need to correct some of them, leaving the remainder with no update mode.  You can then upload the entire sheet and only those with an ‘Update Mode’ will be processed.
