Upload Sourcing Information

Action Columns
Each section contains a column which provides the ability to choose if the section is to be selected. You can perform Updates and Creates in the same worksheet.  There are exceptions, such as not being able to perform updates on sections that have not yet been created, and dependencies between sections which may require other information.  The Wizard or the Oracle API will guide you with errors if you encounter any of these exclusions/exceptions.

To upload sourcing information, you need to complete the following steps:

An action must be selected to either Create, Update or Delete a record in each child section depending on the Mode you are using.

Enter directly into the worksheet or open the form to select the required Process Action:

Process options are as follows depending on what Mode you are using:

Create – Use if new sourcing information is to be created.

Update – Use to change or update existing sourcing information.

Delete – Use where available to completely remove the record. Security controlled.

Security: To be able to delete an ASL you must set the profile option More4Apps: SCW Allow ASL Delete. To be able to delete a Sourcing rule you must have EBS access to the function “Purge Sourcing Rule”. Similarly, in order to delete an Assigned Sourcing Rule, you need the EBS function “Purge Assignment Sets”.

Note - If you are adding a line, attribute or qualifier to an existing ASL, then the ‘Update’ option should be selected.

Validate Worksheet First
This allows the user to perform validation for the selected records or all records, but no data is uploaded into Oracle.  Data can be checked before it is uploaded by simply opening the Wizard form or alternatively using the ‘Validate’ option and choosing either ‘Validate Selected’ or ‘Validate All’ rows on the Sourcing Wizard ribbon.

Using this option the validation(s) are those which have been built into the Wizard, and do not include all errors which may be encountered based on the data held in your database.  Additional errors may therefore be returned by the API when the ‘Upload’ process is run.
It is recommended that if you are using defaults that you validate the worksheet first before uploading into Oracle.  If any errors subsequently occur they can be addressed prior to uploading into Oracle.

Upload Sourcing Information
Upload will perform validation as per the ‘Validate’ option, but will continue to load the individual adjustments for the record.  Every validated transaction is sent to Oracle and a Transaction ID is retrieved when successful.

There are four ways of selecting which transactions will be uploaded:

Upload Selected – Uploads a single or range of transactions as per the selection of rows with the cursor.

Upload All – Uploads all transactions on the worksheet.

Background Upload Selected – Validates and uploads a single or range of transactions, then will create a concurrent request.  It does not update the sheet with results until requested to (via the Refresh Concurrent option).

Background Upload All – Validates and uploads all transactions on the worksheet, then creates a concurrent request.  It does not update the sheet with results until requested to (via the Refresh Concurrent option).
