Customize Fields

The Customize Columns form enables you to determine how your worksheet will appear when the ‘Create’ button on the form is used.  The following customizations are provided by the form:

Mandatory – Provides you with the ability to make a column required.

Remove – Provides you with the ability to exclude a column from your worksheet.

Label – The Wizard has standard column names which are consistent with the Oracle forms.  This provides you with the ability to customize these column names to suit your business needs.

Comment – Comments are inserted in each column heading cell to assist users when completing the worksheet.  This can be customized to provide the appropriate comments for your business needs.

To customize the columns click on the ‘Customize Fields’ button on the AR Invoice API Wizard - Setup ribbon.

Changing/Duplicate Labels

If a column label is deleted from the ‘Customize Columns’ setup, it will revert back to the default column name, in the case above, Cust Name would revert back to Customer Name.  If a new label is entered via ‘Customize Fields’, this will simply overwrite the previous one in future sheets.
If a column label is updated directly in the sheet and is not the same as the default label or the label assigned via the ‘Customize Fields’ form, the column will be ignored which may cause errors.

If two columns are given the same ‘Label’, when ‘Create’ is clicked, a message will display advising that the second column label will be ignored as illustrated below.

A new sheet will be created with the second label being ignored.

When creating a new worksheet using the ‘New Sheet’ button on the AR Invoice API Wizard ribbon the ‘Customize Columns’ form is NOT used to determine the layout of the worksheet.  This is determined by the layout of the Template123 worksheet.
