About Material Transaction Wizard

Welcome to Material Transaction Wizard by More4apps.

Material Transaction Wizard is a VBA program embedded in a Microsoft Excel workbook.  It is a close cousin to our other ‘Wizard’ products and shares the same look and feel.

More4apps has developed this tool as an alternative to the Oracle forms such as: Miscellaneous Transaction, Subinventory Transfer, and WIP Transaction forms. Material Transaction Wizard includes some extra features to provide even greater productivity.

Oracle users needing to create material transactions now have a richly featured Excel solution allowing them to create their material transactions directly from Excel to Oracle Applications Inventory module.

To make transaction processing even easier, a range of download options are provided: Material Transaction History, Material Transaction Interface, Onhand Quantity, Bill of Materials, WIP Job Requirements and Average Cost.

This documentation is written with the assumption the user knows how to create Miscellaneous Transactions manually.  We highly recommend you read this document in conjunction with the following:

Oracle Inventory Users Guide, Chapter 7, Transactions

Oracle Work In Process Users Guide, Chapter 7, Material Control

Oracle Manufacturing APIs and Open Interfaces Manual, Chapter 7, Open Transaction Interface

The software interfaces with the standard Oracle Inventory API Interface.  It does NOT modify any Oracle objects

Features

All options are available on a ribbon/toolbar.  Double-clicking in the spreadsheet loads the Material Transaction Header, Transaction Lines, Lot, Serial Number, Serial Lot or Average Cost Elements forms.  The forms are optional and you can simply type, import, or paste the values into the spreadsheet.

The Wizard checks material shortages as it processes the transactions, therefore it will pick up the majority of shortages.  If inventory is set to not have a negative balance the transaction will fail.  If inventory is allowed to go negative the transaction will be processed with a warning.

Material Transaction Wizard supports user–defined transaction types and sources to further classify and name transactions.  This feature provides for the issuing of items to individuals, departments and manufacturing projects or to issue damaged items to expense accounts such as scrap.

The Wizard comes with the security of only allowing users to select transaction types they have access to.  For example if a user doesn’t have access to the inter-org transfer screen, then the Inter Org transfer transaction types are not shown.  The same logic applies to Miscellaneous Transactions, Sub-inventory Transfers, Project Borrow/Payback, WIP Component Issues/Receipts and WIP Job Completion Transactions.

You can upload Material Transactions - one transaction header at a time, a selected range of transaction headers, or your entire worksheet.  If you select a transaction within a set of transactions, it will load all the transactions associated with the transaction header, not just the transaction line.

You can choose to have one Material Transaction Header or multiple Transaction Headers per sheet, however all transactions per header must be loaded each time.

The program is flexible about the spreadsheet layout.  You can move or delete unwanted columns.  You can also have multiple sheets or even use sheets in other workbooks.

This product is supported on most versions of E-Business suite from 11.5.10.2 onwards.  Please reference our compatibility section for further details:  https://more4apps.com/support/what-we-support
