Related Item

When it comes to using Related Item mode, it is using direct table insert. Unfortunately, there isn't Oracle API available for this mode, so users will need to be extra diligent in testing before making the move to the production environment.

Note:
Oracle R12.1.3 onwards has public APIs for ‘Related Item’.  The customers who are using Oracle R12.1.3 onwards can use ‘Item Wizard’ for ‘Related Item’.  It is named ‘Item Relationships’ Mode in Item Wizard.  All the modes in the Item Wizard use public APIs and do not require the profile to be set to ‘Yes’.

Oracle API for ‘Related Item’ Mode is not available in Oracle 11i and up to Oracle R12.1.2.  However, the customers using Oracle 11i and Oracle R12.1.2 can still use the ‘Item Extension Wizard’ for the ‘Related Item’ Mode with direct table insert enabled.

You can define relationships between items.

Requirements:
Set the profile ‘More4Apps: IEW Activate Related Item Mode’ to "Yes". Note that this is using a direct table insert to insert into the Oracle tables and is not supported by Oracle.

Rules and Exceptions:
Relationship is at the master item level only; you cannot have related items at the child organization level.
Create/insert can only occur if an item exists in Oracle.
This is a 1 to Many relationships where one Item can have many relationships with an Item Number.

Duplicates are not allowed - A duplicate is the same Item and Relationship Type combination, or a Reciprocal Relationship for the same Relationship Type.
Updates are not allowed.
