•Wizard Validation- The data entry forms (BOM Header, BOM Component, Substitute Component, Assigned Operations and Reference Designator Forms) validate the information using lists of values, date formats, field lengths and other field level validation such as basic business rules.
•API Validation- The upload process will perform the Wizard Validation above before uploading the data to the API which will perform further validation.
Data keyed directly into the worksheet (not via the Wizard forms) will be validated when it is validated/uploaded. If you wish to check anything before it is uploaded, you can also open the form and check any fields which are displayed in red. Alternatively, select the ‘Validate Only’ option on the ribbon and click on Upload.
Missing or Invalid Column
If a column has been removed from the worksheet or incorrectly named, the Wizard may:
a)Show a message if the column is mandatory.
b)Show the missing column as disabled. (Common Assembly Org)
c) Show another column erroring if the missing column is required. (Common Assembly)
