Effectivity Control

In the Bill of Materials Wizard every mode has its own set of Effectivity columns.

This functionality is also dependent on whether you have Project Manufacturing and/or Enterprise Asset Management enabled on your system.

For all these columns standard validation applies:

· The ‘To’ column values cannot be before or less than the ‘From’ column values.

· Common Bill of Materials cannot be Serial or Unit Effective.

The ‘From’ column for each effectivity is mandatory because it is part of the unique ID of the Component.

This means that even though the user may only be using Date Effective Bills in the Bill of Materials mode, the ‘From End Item Unit Number’ column in the ‘Unit Effectivity’ subsection must remain on the sheet. The remaining columns in that subsection may however be removed.
