To access the form, position the cursor somewhere in the sheet below row 10. The data will be downloaded at this point, pushing all existing rows downwards.
Click the ‘Download’ icon and select the ‘Download Form’ option as shown below:
The following is an example of the Engineering Download form.
Each Mode will have a different Download form and criteria.

Download Criteria
Assembly From and To - You can enter partial Assembly item numbers; use the ‘%’ sign for the wild card, as per standard Oracle functionality. If you only enter a value in the ‘Assembly From’ field the ‘Assembly To’ field is ignored. If you enter a value in the ‘Assembly To’ field the download will look for all Assemblies between the values entered (inclusive).
Note - From and To fields work more accurately if the user uses all numeric values or all alphabetical characters, but not both as lexiconic ordering can be problematic.
Revision - The List of Values contains all Revisions for the Assembly Item. Once you have selected an assembly, you can optionally select a Revision. The revision will determine the search date, overruling the ‘Effectivity Date’ on the Bill of Materials Ribbon.
Alternate - List of values contains all Alternates defined for the organization. Select ‘Primary’ Alternate if you do not use Alternates as it represents the first (maybe only) Alternate.
Category Set - A list of Values describing User defined groupings for items. Although not part of the EBS Bills of Materials forms, this has been included to prevent downloading duplicate assemblies from multiple categories. Generally, any item when it is first created will be assigned a default category set, which can be defined as part of setup data, relating to the Functional Area. i.e. (Inventory, Asset Management, Engineering). The default value is the ‘default Category’ defined for the ‘Inventory’ functional area on the User’s system.
Assembly Item Status - The List of values describes all Item Status codes such as (Active, Design, Production, Prototype, …)
Where Used
Download every usage/occurrence of a component in the organization specified.
You can use the Where Used Component section to select a component and download only Bill of Materials containing that component. By also specifying ‘Yes’ in the ‘Include Other Components Within the Bill’ field, it will download all other components for those Bills of Materials as well.
You also have the option to ‘Include Implemented Only Components’. Set this option to Yes to download only the components that are implemented based on the current date and time.
Cost Type
The List of values (LOV) contains all Cost Types available to the Organization. If the ‘Include Costs’ flag on the Bill of Materials Ribbon is set to Yes, the download will return Assembly Costs and Components where applicable.
The Cost Type chosen on the Download Form can differ from that showing on the Ribbon. The Ribbon Cost Type List of Values defaults to ‘Frozen’, the Download Form Cost Type LOV does not default a value.
Caution: If downloading costs via the Download form, and the Cost Type LOV is blank, costs for all cost types will be returned.
Explode
Indented Bills Structure.
Download all data related to the manufacture/construction of a given Assembly by expanding all components that are bills in their right, to the level specified.
It is recommended to have the ‘Exploder Level’ column on the sheet (not required) as this shows the level at which each bill is found.
Not available in the EAM modes (as shown in the Mode v Criteria table above).
Criteria required for Explode:
· Explode Level – (Ribbon)
· Inventory Org Code
· Assembly
· Alternate
Implode
Where Used Structure.
Download every usage/occurrence of a component item to the level specified.
It is recommended to have the ‘Exploder Level’ column on the sheet (not required) as this shows the level at which each component is found.
Not available in the EAM modes (as shown in the Mode v Criteria table above).
This varies from the ‘Where Used’ section on the Download Form as it returns the path to the top level (final) assembly/structure.
Criteria required for Implode:
· Implode Level – (Ribbon)
· Inventory Org Code
· Component
Eng Component ECO
Engineering Mode Only.
Component ECO – The List of Values describes all ECOs in the organization.
Download only those bills that have components affected by the selected ECO.
Include All Implemented Components – A Yes/No List of Values describing whether to include all other implemented components for the Bills of Material or just those effected by the ECO.
Components affected by a cancelled ECO will not be included.
Note: All Criteria on the download form works in conjunction with the Download Ribbon Filters on the Bill of Materials Ribbon except for Cost Types which supersedes the Cost Type on the Ribbon.
